1. Pulses and satiety

There is a study held about the chickpea intervention. There were 42 participants who were asked to consume their common diets with the addition of about 3 ½ ounces of chickpeas. They did this new diet for 12 weeks before they went to their common diet. The result shows that the volunteers ate grains less. It also shows that they felt more satisfied that made them need more intake of processed snacks in the 4th weeks after the study.

A study done for 30 obese adults was done with restricted calorie diet for them within 8 weeks. There were two types of diet. One was without beans and lentils and the other wan was with beans, peas, lentils and chickpeas. From this study, it is proven that pulses are good for both heart protection and weight loss.

6. High fiber pulse based diet VS low carb diet

A study was held for randomly assigned men and women with overweight. There were 173 participants joined this study. The study provided two types of diet, i.e. high fiber and low carb. Low carb diet led to 2 more pounds weight loss over 16 weeks. However, it is also important to see that bean diet also led to reduced LDL cholesterol.
